2024 MIT Energy Conference
Mar 11 - Day 1
Mar 12 - Day 2

2024 MIT Energy Conference, scheduled for March 11-12, 2024, is the largest student-led energy & climate conference in the US for many years since its inception in 2006.

This year, under the theme "Short and Long: a Balanced Approach to the Energy Transition," we aim to delve into both immediate and long-term strategies for an effective and equitable shift towards sustainable energy sources. Our conference has historically attracted a diverse community, including over 1,050 attendees last year from top-tier academic institutions, industry leaders, and experts in energy and climate.

Given the MIT North California Alumni Association's mission to engage and inform alumni on topics of energy generation, environmental protection, and sustainable resource management, we believe there is a unique synergy between our conference's objectives and your association's interests. Particularly, our focus areas this year, including electric power & grid, energy storage solutions, food & water sustainability challenges, transportation innovations, climate change, and the intersection of entrepreneurship & investing in the energy sector, align closely with the topics you champion.

We are excited to announce that we already have some confirmed keynote speakers, including Katie Rae (Engine Ventures), Yet Ming Chiang (MIT), and Daniel Kammen (Berkeley), with more to come. We invite your members to join our conference virtually or in person, as we believe it would be of significant value. For more details about our conference and the lineup of speakers, please visit our website: https://www.mitenergyconference.org/.

In addition to providing a platform for insightful discussions, we are eager to enhance the interactive experience for our virtual attendees. Participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with our panelists through live Q&A sessions, allowing them to contribute questions and gain personalized insights.

We are also experimenting with new ways to make our virtual audience’s experience more engaging and interactive, ensuring that participants can actively contribute to the dialogue.

Moreover, recognizing the importance of accessibility and continued learning, all attendees will be granted access to recordings and transcripts of the sessions, enabling them to revisit the content at their convenience and ensure they don’t miss out on any of the valuable discussions.
