Virtual Pi(e) Contest
Mar 14

To the MIT community, and to the math-obsessed throughout the world, March 14th is Pi Day, a celebration of the world's most famous mathematical constant. In recent years, Pi Day has evolved into the Institute's unofficial holiday.

Pi Day Photo Contest - celebrating all things pi(e)! 🏆

This Pi Day - March 14 (3/14 or 3.14 for those so inclined) to recognize the illustrious irrational number,  you're invited to our first ever Virtual Pi(e) Contest. Whether it’s a home-cooked pie 🥧, pizza pie 🍕or just a photo of MIT alums hanging out.

Normally this annual celebration involves making pies, eating pies, or throwing pies, but we will do it slightly differently - digitally.

Win prizes - $314 Amazon Gift card, an autographed book, pi(e) cutter, and submission discounts.

Facebook group, Twitter, Instagram, and Slack on Pi Day.  Like, challenge, submit, share, or join the conversation.   The idea is to have fun and celebrate...virtually

How to Participate?

Participating is as easy as pie!   On Pi Day share a photo of something pi-related.  Use your imagination, get creative and compete for some amazing prizes.

Whether it’s a home-cooked pie (apple, pecan, pumpkin...whatever you like)  🥧, pizza pie  (NY style, Detroit style, Chicago deep-dish, wood-fire) 🍕or just a photo of MIT alums hanging out and eating pie / making pie / throwing pie, or a special project on raspberry pi, or reflections on the meaning of pi for you... we leave it to you.

Share your pictures, videos, live streams whatever you choose of the final product, the making process, bloopers on your preferred social media channel - Facebook group, Twitter, Instagram, and Slack using the hashtag - #mitcncpiday #mitcnc #piday #mit
