The ICCF conferences report on experimental, theoretical and other research on what are now called Low Energy Nuclear Reactions (LENR). LENR refers to the observation of the phenomenon of excess heat, far beyond what can be attributed to chemical energy, when certain metals (e.g. palladium or nickel) are loaded with deuterium or hydrogen, and an external stimulus such as an electric current is applied.
Three decades of experimentation on LENR have shown that they might be an important new source of clean energy, free of dangerous fast radiation, residual radioactivity and green house gases.
