Hear Mr. Chakri Cherukuri, a senior researcher in the Quantitative Financial Research group at Bloomberg LP describes how machine learning can be used to analyze Tweets about public companies to develop a sentiment based trading strategy for their stocks. Mr. Cherukuri's research interests include quantitative portfolio management, algorithmic trading strategies and applied machine learning. Previously, he built analytical tools for trading desks at Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers. Before that he worked in the Silicon Valley for startups building enterprise software applications. He has extensive experience in numerical computing and software development. He holds a master’s degree in computational finance from Carnegie Mellon University and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras.
