A couple of months ago I was bitten by the genealogy bug and started researching my Lederman roots which go back to 19th century Wlodawa, Poland.
Based on this developing interest I decided to put together this virtual event where I am asking 3-5 alums to tell us their genealogy story and offer tips for the rest of us.
I have asked Todd Knowles, an amazing genealogist to join our meeting and tell us about his experiences at FamilySearch as well as answer any questions from the group.
W. Todd Knowles has been with FamilySearch for over 22 years, and currently serves as Deputy Chief Genealogical Officer. When he was 12 years of age, he learned of his own Jewish heritage. This discovery has led to a lifetime of learning of his own family, Polish Jews. Todd is the Past President of the Utah Jewish Genealogy Society and currently serves as a Trustee of the International Society of British Genealogy and Family History (ISBGFH).
