Why did you decide to volunteer with the MITCNC?

MIT has been part of my community for years – from my time in DC, to Cambridge, to NYC, and now the Bay Area. Some of the most amazing people I have met and ideas I have heard have been within the MIT community. Bringing people together has always been my passion, and I’m excited to engage our MIT cohort to better our broader community.

Tell us a bit about your role with the MITCNC. What are your responsibilities in this position?

I will be coordinating our Club’s volunteering efforts, both within Club operations and separate events. At various Club events, I will be collecting names of the people who would like to volunteer and match them with the appropriate volunteering opportunities. Our MIT community has an unparalleled talent set, so the possibilities are endless. From STEM mentoring to start-up advising to environmental conservation to volunteering at Club events, we have a long list of topics, so please feel free to reach out to me if you are interested!

What exciting things can we expect to see from your area of focus in the coming months? (e.g., social events, speakers, etc.)

Look out for more information regarding volunteer happy hours and appreciation events! And of course, volunteering events within each track as well 🙂 If you’re interested in volunteering with the club, or want to learn more about opportunities to give back, reach out – we would love to get you involved!!

Describe one of your most memorable MIT moments.

Although the late night psets were certainly memorable, my favorite MIT moments were walking back home with friends across the bridge to Boston on the first sunny, warm day in the spring and watching the MIT sailboats go by on the glistening Charles River.
