Dr Adam Boxer’s research is focused on developing new treatments and biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases, particularly those involving tau and TDP-43. He directs UCSF’s Neurosciences Clinical Research Unit and has been the PI for several multicenter, clinical trials in Frontotemporal Lobar Degeneration (FTLD) spectrum disorders. He also co-chairs the FTLD Treatment Study Group, an academic-industry collaborative group working to speed the development of new therapies for FTLD.
He received his MD and PhD as part of the NIH-funded Medical Scientist Training Program at New York University Medical Center and further trained in Internal Medicine, Neurology and Behavioral Neurology.
