Rapid Iterations in Nuclear Innovation: A Key to Fighting Climate Change
Jan 26 - Virtual Event

Kairos Power is a mission-driven engineering and manufacturing company developing an innovative, carbon-free technology with the intent to enable the world’s transition to clean energy. Our fluoride salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor combines existing technologies in a novel way, using high-temperature fuels from gas-cooled reactors with a low-pressure molten salt coolant. It is clean, passively safe, and – most importantly – affordable.

While the conventional nuclear development cycle is long, slow, and capital intensive, Kairos Power is embracing a rapid iterative approach to deploy advanced reactor technology at a cost competitive with natural gas. Through a series of successive major hardware demonstrations enabled by a vertical integration strategy, Kairos is mitigating   technical, licensing, manufacturing, and construction risk while establishing cost certainty.

This novel approach represents a paradigm shift in nuclear development – one that is necessary for nuclear to expand its role in the fight against climate change.

About the Speaker:
