The area of the whole rectangle is 160 and the area in red is 12. What is the area in green?
Because they share the same base and height, the triangle made up of D and A has the same area of the triangle made up of D, E, and F, so A = E + F. The entire green area is equal to
C + H + A = C + H + E + F.
We know that E = 12, so we just need to find C + H + F. However, those regions form a triangle that is half of the rectangle, or 160 / 2 = 80. Thus, the total green area is 12 + 80 = 92.
