Job Description Guidelines
Any
company wishing to hire MIT alums is welcome to send a job description to
our email list. To do so, please observe the following guidelines. Note
that we do reserve the right to stop further postings by anyone with a
history of submitting emails that we deem inappropriate.
You
can submit your job descriptions directly to the email list. Please send
your email to MITCNC_JOBS@listserv.mit.edu.
To
make this as efficient as possible, please DO --
- state
"technical", "executive", or appropriate "other"
in the SUBJECT line (along with company name or whatever else you want)
- if
posting multiple jobs, please list the job titles of all jobs at the
very top of the email, before you get into any company of job details;
I recommend not including more than 2-3 jobs in any one email - better
to split and send two messages.
- describe
the company - things to include might be full company name, url, office
location, size (funded startup, etc.), industry, etc.
- include
a contact name and email/phone number; this could be you or someone
else - whoever will be fielding phone calls, receiving resumes, etc.
- individual
job descriptions -- if they are detailed on the web, put at least something
indicating what it is in the email, then link to the specific web page
where the job is mentioned. please include details like requirements,
responsibilities
- feel
free to list jobs that are in technical fields, executive management,
academic, financial, anything else you might have that seems appropriate.
Remember, there is a broad range of MIT alums out there.
- encourage
anyone else you know who might be interested in hiring MIT alums at
any level to post to this list.
And,
by general request, please DON'T --
- include
a lot of fluffy buzz and hype
- attachments
are discouraged
