Mission

The mission of the career development program is to empower MIT alumni/ae to take charge of their careers. Toward this end, we aim to:

• Make Bay Area MIT alumni aware of the need to MANAGE their careers and PLAN for their professional futures. 
• Help each participating alumnus/a to articulate goals and a roadmap for the career s/he would like to have.  Then, provide guidance on how to recognize and seize opportunities that can move them toward these goals. 
• Support these objectives through various events, including: 

• "Model of success" presentations by "successful" people. 
• Presentations addressing "exciting" fields of work and how one gets into them. 
• Instructional workshops and presentations.

What MITCNC Can Offer You

For individuals seeking new jobs or managing their careers:

• Check out the descriptions of companies who are looking for MIT alumns to hire. Many of these companies already have MIT grads who are willing to act as contacts for interested alums. 
• Sign up for the MITCNC_JOBS email list, maintained through the MIT Alumni Association's Infinite Connection service. Log into Infinite Connection, then click on Mailing Lists, and search for "MITCNC_JOBS".
• Anyone who has a job description and who would like to post it on this list is welcome to submit it directly to MITCNC_JOBS@listserv.mit.edu. Text only - NO ATTACHMENTS, please. Click here for detailed guidelines.
• There is also a general MITCNC email list mitcnc-careers@yahoogroups.com if you have a career-related event or other news to share, that you think would be of interest to MIT alums.
• Career development events. Some of these are MITCNC-sponsored events; in addition, we provide descriptions of non-MITCNC career related events as we hear about them. 
• Recruiters with whom we have developed informal relationships. 
• Career coaches and other resources with whom we have developed informal relationships.
• Professional organizations of possible interest.

For companies seeking to recruit MIT alumni/ae:

• Please send an email to mitcnc_career_dev@alumlist.mit.edu if you'd like to add your company description to our web-site. We will add/remove you from our listing at your request. 
• Email your company and job descriptions to MITCNC_JOBS@listserv.mit.edu. This is a list that ONLY MIT alumni/ae can subscribe to. Please see the job posting guidelines prior to sending your information to this list.
